Alex Amor

Born and raised in Glasgow, Scotland, Alex Amor developed a passion for music at an early age. She began writing songs around the age of 11, with her first composition titled 'Take Me on a Trip'. This early interest in songwriting laid the foundation for her future career in music.

During her teenage years, Alex was influenced by artists like Avril Lavigne and Nelly Furtado, whose albums she listened to extensively. These influences helped shape her musical style, blending elements of alternative and indie pop.

After completing her education, Alex pursued a degree in textile design at university. However, her passion for music remained strong, and she eventually decided to focus on her musical career, setting up a home studio in a cupboard under the stairs at her parents' house in 2018. This period of creative self-isolation allowed her to hone her songwriting and production skills.

Alex Amor's professional music career began in 2021 with the release of her debut EP, 'Love Language'. The EP documented the highs and lows of a relationship, showcasing her ability to convey deep emotions through her music. Produced with Karma Kid, the project received positive reviews and marked her entry into the music industry.

Following the success of her debut, Alex released her second EP, 'The Art of Letting Go', in 2022. This project continued to explore themes of love and self-discovery, further establishing her as a rising talent in the indie pop scene.

In 2023, she released her third EP, 'Super Sonic', which featured tracks like 'Cherry Blossom Boy' and 'Like The First Time'. The EP demonstrated her growth as an artist and received widespread support from radio stations and music publications.

Throughout her career, Alex has performed at various festivals, including The Great Escape, TRNSMT, and Dot To Dot. She has also supported artists like Thomas Headon, Good Neighbours, and Gretta Ray on tour, further expanding her audience and solidifying her presence in the music industry.

Alex Amor's music is characterized by a blend of alternative and indie pop elements, often described as 'Cosmic Americana'. Her sound draws inspiration from a variety of artists, including Mitski, Adrianne Lenker, Cigarettes After Sex, Beach House, Julia Jacklin, and Weyes Blood.

Her songwriting is known for its emotional depth and storytelling strength, with lyrics that explore themes of love, self-discovery, and personal growth. The dreamlike quality of her music, combined with her rich Glaswegian lilt, creates a unique and captivating listening experience.
