Alex Murray-Leslie

Alexandra Murray-Leslie, a multifaceted performer, artistic researcher, and co-founder of the globally acclaimed art band Chicks on Speed, is a trailblazer in the creative realm. With a diverse portfolio, she has redefined artistic expressions, captivating audiences worldwide.

Presently, Alex serves as the Professor of Digital Performance at Trondheim Academy of Fine Arts, NTNU, Norwegian University of Science and Technology. Simultaneously, she holds the prestigious position of an industry fellow at The University of Technology Sydney, enriching the academic landscape with her profound insights.

In a groundbreaking initiative, Alex is leading a 3-year artistic research grant (2021-2024) focused on RTAI Real-time Telematic Audiovisual Improvisation. This pioneering project is funded by the DIKU Norwegian Research Council, showcasing her commitment to advancing the intersection of technology and creativity.

Alex's illustrious career boasts remarkable milestones, including her role as the Artist in Residence at Pier 9, Autodesk, San Francisco. She also served as the Artistic Director for IED YOMO at the 12th Mobile World Congress, Barcelona, in 2017. Additionally, her expertise shone as the Entertainment Manager for The 34th America's Cup World Series sporting events, held in San Francisco, Cascais, San Diego, and Plymouth. Furthermore, she co-directed Diane Pernet's A Shaded View on Fashion Film, Barcelona, in 2013, leaving an indelible mark on the fashion and film intersection.
