Ayan Ahmed

Born in 2000 in Somalia, Ayan Ahmed moved to Sweden at the age of eight with her mother. As an only child, she often felt isolated, which spurred her creativity from a young age. She would invent characters and stories to keep herself company, laying the foundation for her future in acting. Her early exposure to Somali theater, particularly the performances of actor Awkuuku, inspired her to pursue a career in the performing arts.

Ayan's acting career began with a role in the 2018 short film 'No Ordinary Protest'. She then appeared in the television series 'Ligga' and 'Söndag med Ayan'. Her breakthrough came with the Netflix series 'Snabba Cash', where she played a supporting role that garnered critical acclaim. Her performance in the series led to her winning the Kristallen Award for Best Supporting Role in 2023, solidifying her status as a rising star in Swedish cinema.

Ayan Ahmed's work has not only earned her awards but also recognition as a trailblazer for actors of Somali descent in Sweden.
