Early life
Daniel Calderón, born into a musical legacy as the son of the esteemed Colombian producer and composer Iván Calderón and Diana Pulgarín, embarked on his musical journey at a young age. His initial exposure to the music industry was marked by recording his first song, 'Obsesión,' at the age of 4, an original by Las Estrellas Vallenatas.
While Daniel pursued his studies, Los Gigantes del Vallenato, led by his father Iván Calderón, had already achieved national and international acclaim. Despite initial skepticism from the vallenato audience due to his familial connection, Daniel's talent in singing became evident as he released successful songs like 'Aventura,' 'Quien eres tu,' and 'Como te atreves,' gaining popularity in Venezuela, Ecuador, and, of course, Colombia.
The group released a new album featuring hit songs such as 'Que le diré al corazón,' 'Duele,' and 'Yo te vi,' the latter being the most successful, and eventually, the group's name was changed to 'Daniel Calderón y Los Gigantes' to reflect his growing influence.
In 2011, they released the album 'Alto voltaje,' featuring the hit single 'La señal.'
Daniel Calderón continued to achieve success with songs like 'Infiel' and its well-received salsa version. Recent releases include 'Solo Dios sabrá,' 'Borracho beso' (accompanied by a video featuring his then-girlfriend Sara Uribe), and 'Fallaste.'
His album 'De norte a sur' produced the single 'No y no,' released in February 2015, quickly climbing the popularity charts, including Monitor Latino's Top 20 in Colombia.
Daniel Calderón is also known for his collaborations, including tracks like 'La locura de mi vida' (feat. Omar Geles), 'Tus recuerdos son mi dios' (feat. Wilfran Castillo & Pipe Calderón), and 'Noche de Paz' (feat. Pipe Calderón).
He is the cousin of urban music singer Pipe Calderón.
