Disarstar grew up in Hamburg as the son of an entrepreneur and left home at the age of 15. He began his musical journey at the age of eleven, initially focusing on writing lyrics and later recording them. Initially associated with street rap, his early recordings reflected struggles with alcohol, drugs, and minor offenses. With the guidance of a social worker, Disarstar underwent a transformation, shifting his focus to philosophy and societal critique in his music.
From 2010 to 2013, he released a series of mixtapes and EPs for free download, attracting attention from Showdown Records. In 2014, he signed with Showdown Records and released the free mixtape 'Manege frei' and the EP 'Tausend in Einem,' his first commercial release. Disarstar toured as a support act for Kontra K in 2014, gaining exposure to a larger audience. His debut album, 'Kontraste,' was released on June 26, 2015, entering the German album charts at position 19.
In 2017, he moved from Showdown Records to Warner Music Germany, releasing his second album, 'Minus X Minus = Plus,' which reached position 16 on the German album charts. Disarstar's third album, 'Bohemien,' was released on February 15, 2019. In December, he returned with the first single from his fourth album, 'Klassenkampf & Kitsch.' His fifth album, 'Deutscher Oktober,' released on March 12, 2021, achieved his highest chart position at number 5 in the German album charts.

In a song titled 'Alice im Wunderland' in 2018, he specifically criticized the politician Alice Weidel of the AfD (Alternative for Germany). Disarstar has engaged in political actions, including removing barriers designed to deter homeless individuals in Hamburg and encouraging donations to a homeless aid organization.
After the Hamas terrorist attack on Israel in 2023, some of Disarstar's early lyrics containing anti-Zionist passages received criticism. He clarified that these lyrics were from a different period in his life and asserted his opposition to antisemitism.
