Jharis Yokley

Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Jharis Yokley developed a passion for music at an early age. Immersed in the rich musical heritage of his hometown, he was particularly drawn to the drums, an instrument that would become his primary means of expression. Recognizing his burgeoning talent, Yokley pursued formal education at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. There, he studied under esteemed jazz educators Terri Lyne Carrington and Danilo Pérez, who played pivotal roles in shaping his musical approach and technical proficiency. After graduating from Berklee, Yokley relocated to Brooklyn, New York, in 2016, immersing himself in the city's vibrant music scene. He has performed and recorded with Solange, Chance the Rapper, Ani DiFranco, DJ Premier, and José James, among others. In May 2024, Jharis Yokley released his debut album, 'Sometimes, Late At Night,' under Rainbow Blonde Records. Inspired by personal reflections and emotional journeys, the album features collaborations with notable artists such as José James and BIGYUKI.
