Growing up in a large family with four siblings, AVIV's weekends were filled with record shopping on Queen Street in Toronto. She began studying piano at six, and her passion for music expanded as she learned guitar and developed her voice. Influenced by artists like Clairo, Lorde, and Lana Del Rey, AVIV turned her poetry into songs, performing regularly for friends and family.

AVIV’s music often explores themes of love, heartbreak, and emotional introspection. Her latest track, 'You Feel Like Depression,' delves into self-guilt and self-blame following a breakup. She describes herself as a teenager who 'acts much older, still gets excited about little things, and loves to over-analyze her emotions and put them into music.'

AVIV's journey into the music industry was shaped by her family's influence and her early exposure to music. She found solace and a creative outlet during the pandemic, drawing inspiration from artists like Radiohead and The Beatles. Her ability to merge singing, songwriting, and playing multiple instruments has become a hallmark of her style.

In creating 'You Feel Like Depression,' AVIV collaborated with writer Liam Kevany and producer Rian Lewis. The track evolved from a slow, sorrowful guitar piece to a dynamic song with varying time signatures and speeds, capturing the frustration and emotions of a breakup.

The music video for 'You Feel Like Depression' features nostalgic, animated visuals reminiscent of childhood cartoons. AVIV wanted to reflect the song's lullaby-like, reminiscing verse with an innocent and nostalgic aesthetic.

AVIV is set to open for The Happy Fits in Toronto and Montreal in May, with more performances planned. She is excited to explore different sounds and collaborations, aiming to grow and develop her music authentically over the coming years.
