Eli Smart

Born and raised on the island of Kaua'i, Hawaii, Eli Smart grew up in a family deeply immersed in music. His grandmother was a member of the pioneering all-female rock band Ace of Cups, and his grandfather performed alongside jazz legends like Duke Ellington. This rich musical heritage provided Eli with a diverse palette of influences, from classic rock to jazz and soul. Working at his family's guitar and record store, Hanalei Strings, Eli was exposed to a wide array of music, which shaped his eclectic taste and inspired him to start writing his own songs at a young age.

After graduating from high school, Eli moved to Liverpool, England, to attend the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts. Immersing himself in the city's vibrant music scene, he honed his craft and developed his signature 'Aloha Soul' sound—a blend of Hawaiian rhythms and British soul influences. In 2021, Eli released his debut EP, 'Boonie Town,' which featured tracks like 'Highschool Steady' and 'No Destination.' The EP received positive reviews and caught the attention of music legends, including Elton John, who praised Eli's work on his radio show. Following this success, Eli released his second EP, 'Aloha Soul,' further showcasing his unique musical style and solidifying his place in the indie music scene.
