Elmiene, born Abdala Elamin on July 1, 2001, in Frankfurt, Germany, to Sudanese parents, was raised in Oxford, England, from around age five. He rose to attention in 2021 after a viral Instagram video of him singing D'Angelo's 'Untitled (How Does It Feel),' and graduated from Bournemouth University in 2022 with a degree in Creative Writing, specializing in poetry — a background reflected in his intensely personal, neo-soul-inspired songwriting.

He placed fifth in the BBC Sound of 2024 poll and received a BRIT Award nomination for Rising Star in 2025. Signed to Polydor and Def Jam, he released his debut studio album 'Sounds for Someone' in 2026, following singles including 'SAVIOUR' and 'Reclusive,' and has toured internationally in support of the record.
