JNTHN STEIN

Born and raised in Oakland, California, JNTHN STEIN grew up immersed in a diverse musical environment. His father, a professional pianist, introduced him to jazz, while the vibrant local scene exposed him to soul, funk, and hip-hop. These early influences laid the foundation for his eclectic musical style.

During high school, STEIN studied both electric and acoustic bass, participating in jazz ensembles at the Jazzschool in Berkeley. His formal education continued at the Manhattan School of Music, where he initially pursued a path toward becoming an orchestral musician. However, his passion for beat-making and electronic music soon led him to explore new creative avenues.

After co-founding the Los Angeles-based collective Team Supreme, JNTHN STEIN emerged as a solo artist, blending his classical training with electronic production. His debut EP, 'Changes,' released in January 2017, showcased his ability to fuse live instrumentation with innovative beats, earning him recognition in the electronic music scene.

STEIN's live performances are notable for their energy and technical prowess, often featuring him singing while simultaneously playing the Ableton Push and contrabass. This multi-faceted approach has captivated audiences and set him apart as a dynamic performer.
