Matt Louis, born Matthews Louis Charlotten Galarza in Ponce, Puerto Rico, is a singer-songwriter and multidisciplinary artist who began in photography before turning to music, performing and recording also as MVTCHES. His work fuses R&B, Afro-Caribbean rhythms and electronic production into an avant-garde sound that pushes back against traditional Afro-Latine masculinity stereotypes.
His 2025 EP 'GAMMA' further established his experimental approach, and he has continued exploring Afro-Caribeño roots fused with house music on releases such as 'Juanga,' cementing his place as an emerging voice in contemporary Puerto Rican music.
