Kang's interest in music began at a young age, as she grew up playing the piano and the French horn. Her mother, a piano teacher, was a significant influence on her musical upbringing. As a teenager, she was inspired to pursue singing after listening to the band Relient K. Despite her early exposure to music, Kang did not initially envision a career in the field. It was only in 2017, with the encouragement of her husband and friends, that she quit her job as a music teacher to pursue music full-time.

Since then, Kang has released several works, including two EPs, 'One' and 'maybe i'm better now', and a full-length album titled 'how i remember'. Her most well-known song, 'Summer Is for Falling in Love', has over 13 million streams on Spotify and has been featured in advertisements for Nespresso, Uniqlo, and LG, as well as in Korean dramas and TV shows. In 2022, she released her self-produced debut EP, 'the only one i know'.
