Born on February 13, 1993, in Tonypandy, Wales, Sophie Evans grew up in the Rhondda Valley. She attended Tonypandy Community College, where her passion for performing arts became evident. Engaging in school plays and local productions, she honed her skills from a young age. Her early involvement with the Mid-Rhondda Operatic Society provided a solid foundation in musical theatre.

Sophie furthered her education at the Arts Educational Schools in London, a prestigious institution known for nurturing talent in the performing arts. This formal training equipped her with the skills and confidence to pursue a professional career in theatre and music.

In 2010, Sophie Evans gained national recognition as a contestant on BBC's talent show 'Over the Rainbow', which sought to find a new Dorothy for Andrew Lloyd Webber's production of 'The Wizard of Oz'. Competing against thousands, Sophie impressed both judges and audiences with her vocal prowess and stage presence, ultimately finishing as the runner-up.

This exposure opened doors for her in the theatre world. Andrew Lloyd Webber offered her the role of alternate Dorothy, allowing her to perform weekly at the London Palladium. Her performances received critical acclaim, solidifying her status as a rising star in musical theatre.

Following her success in 'Over the Rainbow', Sophie Evans's career flourished. She took on the lead role of Dorothy full-time in 'The Wizard of Oz' from February to September 2012, captivating audiences with her heartfelt performances.

In 2017, she joined the cast of 'Wicked' in the West End, portraying Glinda the Good Witch. Her portrayal was praised for its charm and vocal excellence, further establishing her versatility as a performer.
