Sterre, a burgeoning star in women's freestyle windsurfing, harmonizes her passion for windsurfing with other pursuits, including surfing, skateboarding, longboard dancing, and drawing.

At the age of 16, residing near the Brouwersdam surf spot in the Netherlands, Sterre draws inspiration from accomplished female surfers and skaters such as Sarah-Quita Offringa, Maaike Huvermann, Hanna Poschinger, and Yoli de Brendt. Her brother plays a supportive role, offering tips during her training sessions.

Sterre's repertoire encompasses a variety of tricks like shove-its, spocks, flakas, vulcans, grubbies, punetas, with ongoing training in shakas, funnels, and switch konos. Her current favorite move is the shaka, and she aspires to master the burner.

Beyond windsurfing, Sterre's passion for skateboarding significantly contributes to her overall balance, muscle strength, and perseverance. She emphasizes that skateboarding serves as valuable training, especially when wind conditions are unfavorable.

Dreaming ambitiously, Sterre envisions standing on the podium at the PWA, landing incredible tricks, overcoming fears, and exploring windsurfing destinations like Bonaire or Aruba. Her aspirations extend to supporting and inspiring other female surf and skate enthusiasts through her Instagram account, 'boardqueens,' co-created with Maaike Huvermann.

Sterre's journey in competitive windsurfing commenced in 2017 when she first joined the EFPT. Despite being relatively new to certain moves, the supportive atmosphere and positive experience motivated her to participate in subsequent years.
