Tommy Longhurst hails from Reading, England, a city with a rich musical heritage. Inspired by the vibrant local music scene and the bands he witnessed at the Reading and Leeds Festivals, Tommy embarked on his musical journey as a solo artist. His passion for music and desire to create a unique sound led him to form Only The Poets in 2017. The band's lineup solidified with the addition of bassist Andy "Roo" Burge, guitarist Clem Cherry, and drummer Marcus Yates, each bringing their own flair and expertise to the group.

The band's early days were marked by relentless dedication, performing at student house parties, local pubs, and small venues. This grassroots approach allowed them to build a loyal fanbase and hone their live performance skills. Their debut single, "Ceasefire," released in February 2017, showcased their potential and set the stage for future successes.

This project was followed by their second EP, "Our Time," in 2022, further solidifying their place in the music industry. In 2022, Only The Poets supported singer-songwriter Louis Tomlinson on his UK and Europe tour, exposing them to a broader audience and enhancing their reputation as a formidable live act. They also shared stages with artists like Lewis Capaldi and Bastille, further cementing their status in the music scene.

In 2024, Only The Poets released their highly anticipated EP, "One More Night," under Virgin EMI Records.
