From a Teenage MIDI Sequencer to Amphia Records
Caia began experimenting with music in his early teens using basic equipment — a MIDI sequencer and keyboard — before releasing his first work between 2007 and 2009 through Next Dimension Music and Dinky's Horizontal Records. Time spent living in Norway drew him toward sound experimentation and away from 'standardized' electronic music conventions.
In 2011, he co-founded Amphia Records with close friend Cristi Cons, and the pair also collaborate as SIT (Sideways Invisibility Theory). With jazz musician Mischa Blanos, Caia formed Amorf, releasing the album 'Blending Light' in 2017. His Bucharest studio favors a minimalist, improvisational method — recording long sessions before meticulously editing them into finished tracks.
